What does the committee do?

The BSPR Executive Committee is responsible for developing the strategic direction for the society, ensuring financial viability and liaison with external societies and bodies.

The day to day administration of the society is provided by the Chair, and Honorary Secretary and Treasurer, managing enquiries from many organisations interested in our work and membership.

The committee officers liaise with and are the voice of the special interest groups of the society and the Junior Forum.

Members organise meetings, often with other speciality groups such as BAPS and BAPU.

Officers attend and are the voice of the BSPR at the special interest groups of the Royal College of Radiologists, and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.

Members of the committee sit on various national organisations that have an influence on our work, such as radiation protection guidance.

The BSPR is a supporter of the World Federation of Paediatric Imaging and a current committee member has been appointed to that organisation.

The BSPR committee arranges financial support to members engaged in outreach work and for UK based educational travel bursaries.

The committee contributes to the RCR exam question panel.

The committee organises and initially funds the annual general meetings, with local organisers.
